For a brand-new game, Nival Interactive's Evil Islands: Curse of the Lost Soul seems awfully familiar. It's by the same Russian development team that did the simple Rage of Mages role-playing games a few years ago, and it has much in common with those games, though Evil Islands sports its own fully 3D engine. The game involves an all-too-familiar tale of a hero who must discover his identity (as in Baldur's Gate, Planescape: Torment, Summoner, and countless others) while slaughtering umpteen monsters in an isometric fantasy setting (as in Diablo, Darkstone, Nox, and countless others). You'll quickly see that originality is not the strong point of Evil Islands. Still, as with many of the games it borrows from, it can be very addicting. Hours will fly past as you progress from one exploit to another, hooked on the hack-and-slash formula that was made popular by Blizzard's hit Diablo. So even though it has a worn-out premise and a host of other shortcomings, somehow these things won't matter much to you when you're cutting down packs of monsters and finding one world-saving thingamabob after another.

starts in Elliot's bedroom. To build an interstellar telephone, you will need all manner of different bits
and pieces, which will be found throughout the house. For the most part you will control E.T. as he
searches for the parts that will enable him to "phone home". As you work at the puzzles, one or other of
the children will provide helpful insights into the objectives and strategies. You point and click your
way around, and at times you won't even have to do that. Moving your cursor will be enough to pilot
E.T. or to operate the puzzle concerned, cutting down on mouse clicks considerably (a good thing). The
cursor is of course the famous E.T. finger, and it will light up when you can interact with something.

First, kids choose whether to skate as the lovable Goofy or as his son, Max. Next, they pick the skater's clothes and helmet, and finally they choose which game type. Activities include a tutorial mode where kids can practice tricks and a free skate area. There are also trick competitions and a set of obstacle courses where kids collect coins and avoid hazards. Different skating "worlds", including desert and city, are rendered in impressive 3D graphics. Up to ten games can be saved. We found the program fairly easy to use, although we'd recommend a game controller in place of the confusing keyboard commands.

Enemy Infestation is Ripcord's real-time answer to the X-Com series. It's a strategic game of squad-level combat from an isometric (top-down) perspective. The player controls colonists on a terra-forming station who are desperately defending themselves from an alien invasion of biological terror familiar to anyone who's ever seen a certain series of movies starring Sigourney Weaver. In addition to the usual soldiers, your colonists include civilian specialists such as electrical technicians who can lock doors and scientists who can jack up the power of various weapons by using scientific research stations.

Description
A strange island in the middle of the pacific is where the adventure begins. Stranger still is the half-sunken ship found there. Yet these thoughts fade with the discovery of another human being -- a young woman in a ratty old hospital gown, trapped alone somewhere in a labyrinth of below-deck corridors and passageways.
Experience 112 puts players behind a control board in a security monitor room, able to view different scenes all over the ship without setting foot in any of them.
