Creating The Suspend Shortcut:


Right click on the Desktop .New / Shortcut. Enter in rundll32.exe PowrProf.dll, SetSuspendState . Give it whatever name you want. Now when you click on that shortcut, your computer will shutdown and suspend.

Adding Administrative Tools Icon To The Desktop:


Open Registry Editor. In Registry Editor, navigate to the following registry key:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\ CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace . If your hard drive is filled up with photos and music there is not much you can do other than burning them to a cd and removing them from the hard drive. However, if you have a lot of Word documents or spreadsheet files you might consider archiving the older or seldom used ones into a compressed folder. In Windows XP, right click in a vacant area of your desktop. In the menu which pops up, place your mouse pointer on “new” then select “compressed folder”. This will create a new compressed folder on your desktop. The icon will be a folder with a zipper on it. Double click on the compressed folder to open it. Dragging files into that folder will compress them. If you look at the details of files in a compressed folder you can view the original file size, the compressed file size and the compression ratio. Word documents and spreadsheets can often be compressed 85 to 89%. If you have photos or pictures in a .bmp format you can compress them, however, most pictures will be in a .jpeg format which is already compressed. Putting jpeg files into a compressed folder will gain only 1 to 3%.

How to change(crack) administrator password?

Once you find the administrative account logged in and the administrator out of sight, quickly do this...open command prompt and type...net user user_name *then enter the new password...and re-enter it to confirm...voila!!! the administrator account was just been hacked by you... ;)(no quotes in the beginning and end of the user name if the user name has no spaces in it...otherwise double quotes are required... be careful about the exact format of the command... a SPACE is there before asterisk sign!)


Memory performance tweaks...

These settings will fine tune your system's memory management... at least 512MB of RAM is recommended...go to Start menu -> Run -> regedt32and press enter...then navigate to the following key location in registry...HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentContro lSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Managementdouble click on the value named DisablePagingExecutive and in the decimal put a 1.this allows XP to keep data in memory now instead of paging sections of RAM to harddrive yeilds faster performance...double click on the value named LargeSystemCache and change the decimal to 1.this allows XP Kernel to Run in memory which improves system performance a lot...now reboot and see how your system flies...!P.S., This tweak may cause problems with ATI cards so those having ATI cards shouldn't try it...

All files and folders sent to the Windows Recycle Bin may disappear from the folder tree, but Windows still stores them on your PC hard drive and keeps track of them. Eventually, one of four things will happens:
1. You can eliminate things in the Recycle Bin, either by emptying it or by deleting some of the files and folders there.
2. The Recycle Bin gets full, and starts permanently deleting its oldest files to make space for new ones.
3. You turn off the Recycle Bin so deleted files aren't put there anymore.
I will cover all these possibilities. and in addition, will tell you how to streamline the deleting process, if you want to do so.
